Rat Guide

THE RATS

Two to eight of you, one restaurant to wreck. The official pitch: "Crawl through hidden shortcuts and hide in dark corners in a vast human-scale map. Work in teams of 2–8 to nibble through wires, clog the toilet, hack the PC – anything to get this place shut down for good!"

Traits

Rats have viewable traits — footage shows Lisa and Tom, each with a "tap to view traits" panel. Expect builds and roles to matter.

Hunger & Sprint

The rat HUD tracks hunger and sprint. Managing both — when to run, when to nibble — looks like the swarm's core resource game.

Task list

Rats work from a current-task list, running several sabotage jobs in parallel. Coordinate to hit multiple systems at once.

Come back from the dead

Official announcement: "Rats can come back from the dead (but how??)" Respawn, possession, or something stranger — the mechanism is still hidden.

Sabotage Jobs Seen So Far

From official task lists
  • Sabotage the fuse box — knock out the lights and buy the pack darkness. Seen with a hard hat and a mission list.
  • Play a haunted tape on the TV — a horror night for the guests (and a noise cover for the pack).
  • Clog the toilet — the classic. Hygiene, meet sabotage.
  • Steal the reserved sign — walk out the front door with the restaurant's pride in your teeth.
  • Cog male roller & more — a machine task spotted in mission lists; expect a full job board at launch.

Early Tactics

  • Split up, then converge. Two rats bait the chef toward the bar while the rest finish the fuse box. Proximity chat makes this a real mind game.
  • Use the walls. Hidden passages let the swarm cross the map the chef can't. The moment the chef commits to one side, slip to the other.
  • Whisper or stay silent. Proximity chat is a giveaway. Near the chef, go quiet — use emotes and task pings instead of talking.
Coming after launch: trait tier lists, hunger/sprint management math, fuse box and task guide, best rat loadouts per map.
